BOWLING COMMITTEE REPORT

Tournament Objectives:

The holding of the PAREB 2008 Inter-local board Tenpin Bowling Tournament was approved by the Board with the objective of fostering and promoting fellowship, camaraderie and friendship among constituent boards and REALTOR-members through a healthy sports competition.  From all indications, the Bowling Committee strongly believes these objectives were met.

Tournament Scope:

The tournament was held from Oct. 15th to Nov. 19, 2008 at the Elanes Bowling Center, Ortigas Ave., Greenhills.  During the opening ceremonies on Oct. 15th,  Pres. Daisy Kokseng gave an inspirational talk to the following nine participating boards and their playing members:  ACRB, MBR, MVRB, PLAREB, PMRB, PRB, QCRB, RBR and SJRB.  There were 10 members to a team but with only 5 bowlers playing at a time.  With nine teams, that’s about 90 players and with an average of 10 non-playing  members from various boards in attendance rooting for their respective teams, that would be  a total of about 100 REALTORS bonding and getting together for six consecutive weeks from Oct. to Nov. 2008. Who knows, while pausing in-between rolling the balls, they could have  been doing MLS business on the side.

During the awarding ceremonies on Nov. 19th, with free snacks served courtesy of bowling benefactors, some 30 awards were handed out to victorious teams and individual players in the form of cash, trophies, medals and gift items.  Even the non-winning  local-boards were given gift items for their participation.
